About
Dickies is proud to announce the launch of the 2012 competition to find Britain’s top workers: UK Worker of the Year.
This marks the third year of the competition presented by the legendary workwear company, which seeks to recognise and reward excellence in the British workforce and the competition looks set to be even bigger and better than in 2011.
- UK Worker of the Year searches for workers who exemplify what doing a good job is all about.
- UK Worker of the Year is now live for entries and nominations. The competition - which again is free to enter - is open to any UK worker aged 17 or over until August 31st.
- The finalists will be invited to meet judges at the world famous Pinewood Film Studios in October, before the crowning of the UK Worker of the Year at a gala finale in November
2012 Entry Timescale
UK Worker of the Year, presented by Dickies in association with SEAT, will be live for entries and nominations from April 17th up to and including September 19th, 2012.

Grand Finale set for 2nd November 2012
The 2011 Grand Finale took place at Marlow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel and the feedback from guests made it an easy decision for Dickies to return to the venue again in 2012, with the Gala Award night scheduled to take place on November 2nd. As with the previous two awards nights, the evening will be themed and Dickies is promising something very special – but in keeping with the company and the nature of the competition.
SEAT - Official UK Worker of the Year 2012 partner
Joining the scheme as principle partners for 2012 is automotive giant, SEAT. The car manufacturer is offering a mouth-watering prize for the Worker of the Year – its flagship saloon model, the luxurious Exeo.
“We are delighted to have SEAT on board as an official partner this year and to be able to offer an Exeo to the winner is something very special,” explains Maurice Morton, Sales and Marketing Director of Williamson-Dickie Europe. “SEAT’s involvement marks a further step forward for UK Worker of the Year and we are truly excited at the prospect of working with them. I know their participation is going to produce an excellent reaction and will help give the competition even more impetus.”

Judges
TV Presenter and Car Journalist, Quentin Willson returns for a third year as Chairman of the judging panel and he is in no doubt as to the importance of UK Worker of the Year and SEAT’s involvement.
“Given the on-going uncertainty that the country faces economically, a feel-good initiative of this type is more important than ever, to remind our nation’s work force that they have much to be proud of and look forward to,” he comments.
“It’s great that Dickies continues to be committed to putting something back into the market in this way and excellent that such a trusted car brand can see the merits of becoming part of the scheme. I am sure that with both brands behind it, UK Worker of the Year will scale new heights in 2012.”
